A diet that helps to prevent jet lag has been developed by the Argonne National Laboratory. Studies of military personnel found that those using the diet flying east were 7.5 times less likely to experience jet lag, those flying west, 16.2 times less likely. The diet is based on what cues the body to slow down or speed up—specific foods, when to eat them and how much to eat.

The safest floors to stay on in a hotel are the third through sixth. Burglars most often target rooms on the first and second floors due to ease of entry and exit (through windows, doors to patios and pools, etc.). You are also better off on these floors in case of fire. Above the sixth floor you’ll have a long walk down and firefighting equipment may have a hard time getting up.
